Feng-shui in your home

Feng-shui became known to Sri Lankans in the near past, and today, it has become as an important factor in the field of building as Waasthu.

The history of Feng-shui covers more than 3500 years in China. It was practiced way before the invention of the magic compass, to align a building in the  correct  way. In Chinese, “Feng-shui” means the balance of the most basic elements in creation-water and wind. Feng-shui teaches how to tap the cosmic energy to enhance our lives in a better and a positive manner. It is believed that the most positive energy in the universe, the cosmic energy, could only be harnessed  through wind and water and according to ancient records, Chinese royalty and aristocratic families in the far-gone years, have made use of the powers of the Feng-shui to enhance and safeguard their inheritance for generations. They believed in the powers of this study so much, that the common man was barred from using it for themselves. Feng-shui was also used to ward-off the ill effects of elements and to bring in prosperity, good health and happiness.

If you are building a new house or a building, and if you would like to use Feng-shui in your home to make it more positive-energy-oriented, Feng-shui  just doesn’t work only with symbols. Many people are interested to fill their homes with various symbols associated with Feng-shui art, yet, few understand that ones fate could not totally be changed by the use and practice of Feng-shui.

In Feng-shui, all human beings are grouped into two groups-East group and the West group. Every one of us belong to either of these groups. The fates of each person , if living together in one house, works to bring about fate of the total building that they live in, and this could, to a great extent, be influenced by the practice of Frng-shui so that each member reaps more positive energy from the universe to better their futures. If you are building anew, then this could be incorporated into the design plan quite easily and effectively. Feng-shui is known to bring-in 1/3 each of “heaven luck”, “man luck” and “earth luck” to a person or a building, bringing peace and harmony as ell as prosperity to it’s dwellers.
